Comprehensive consumer research by Agri-Fab highlighted a key flaw in many wheeled leaf-sweepers - that of 'skipping', whereby the brush occasionally jumps over debris, leaving it uncollected. With this high-specification model, Agri-Fab have remedied the problem, so a first-time clean sweep - with no need for a second run - is assured.

Thanks to its expansive 122cm sweep width, the Agri-Fab 45-0492 offers a huge 24% increase in productivity when set against the smaller 96.5cm model.

Its high-torque gearing, high-traction wheels and heavy-duty brush combine to ensure a comprehensive pick-up; its adjustable working-height provides the flexibility you'll need to operate successfully on a variety of surfaces.

The Agri-Fab Smart-Sweep 122cm Towed Lawn & Leaf Sweeper is supplied with a positively cavernous 710-litre collector, so huge amounts of debris can be packed-in between emptying stops (debris can be dumped from the driver's seat, using a handily placed lever).

Equipped with a universal hitch pin, this model is suitable for use with all makes of garden tractor.

I agonised over what to do about sweeping up leaves for about 6 weeks after buying a new house with a 'bog garden' - and in the end I went for the AgriFab sweeper. It arrived last week. Putting it together was easy enough and took about 1.5 hours, (some say they have done it faster than this, but honestly I doubt it - I consider myself pretty quick with engineering things, and you could not do it faster). Physically it is very big and very heavy - very "metal", and takes up a lot of space in our shed - about 2-3sq metres of floor space, (I stand it up at right angles on one of the wheels). The quality of materials is first rate, but fitting the collecting bag simply cannot be done alone - the material is so springy - you need at least 1 other person to hold it for you. Also the fasteners all seemed a bit old fashioned and rickety - but when you actually use the sweeper, you see that there is such a huge strain on all the components, and they need to be super-chunky otherwise they would simply break. When it is going, this sweeper is brilliant. I have only used it once, and that was on wet grass, with sodden leaves, which had frozen to the ground on a ground frost. It picked these up pretty brilliantly, and left a very neat green and clean strip of grass, with solid leaves either side of the swept stripe. This actually proves a downside. Although emptying the collector is easy enough - it fills to the brim in about 20-30 metres of towing - it means you are forever tipping leaves. The only way to solve this would be to have an even bigger collector basket - which would make it even heavier - but sweeping efficiency wise, this thing is great.

Assembly a bit time consuming but resulting unit appears well built. Very easy to set up - depth gauge an excellent idea. Super effective grass collection; picked up more than a tennis court sized area without having to empty it before finishing. Despite large size, it is compact when folded for easy storage without dismantling. MowDirect order communications and delivery excellent. Thank you.
