Description

The Bertolini BT195 benefits from top-notch Italian engineering solutions, and as such is the obvious choice for the more exacting domestic gardener or allotment enthusiast.

Driving this high-performance, high-specification tiller is a powerful 5.8hp (182cc) four-stroke overhead-valve engine from Emak; the K800H. Overhead-valve engines have become hugely popular in recent years, as they run cleaner, cooler and quieter than traditional side-valve units, as well as being significantly cheaper to run.

Power from the engine is delivered to the tines through an oil-bathed chain drive; a premium feature, which not only optimises torque transfer, but also works to greatly extend the machine’s service life. Bertolini have included a reverse gear, so you’ll have no trouble freeing the tiller in the event it becomes dug-in.

Thanks to its heavy-duty riveted-steel rotors and high-torque transmission, the Bertolini BT195 Front-Tine Cultivator will make light work of the most stubborn soil-types. A rotor guard and a handlebar-mounted rotor-brake lever combine to maximise user safety.

Some petrol cultivators can be awkward to control and tiring to use – not so the Bertolini BT195: it features ergonomic, height- and width-adjustable handlebars and a convenient multi-function lever, both of which combine with its relatively lightweight design (57kg) to ensure you’ll have no handling problems. A front transport wheel facilitates easier site-to-site movement.

Built to withstand the rigours of heavy-duty use, the Bertolini BT195 is constructed around a robust all-steel chassis, and is fitted with a reinforced transmission guard.

Have had mine now for 3 years, and it comes out maybe twice a year Autumn / Spring to go over the plots. It's a fantastic piece of equipment with a really robust engine. Starts within a couple of pulls even after prolonged storage. Lots of available power, smooth engine but does take a bit of getting used to manoeuvring and turning given its bulk - but that's more down to the operator! Reverse function an absolutely fantastic feature and doesn't half speed up operation times. Made light work of converting rough scrub paddock land into useable vegetable allotment - even the churned up stones (some sizeable) were not a problem and were all taken in its stride. Wouldn't part with mine now for anything. Can't go far wrong with this one!

Honda eat your heart out. A first class product and great service from MowDirect I bought this for my very over grown one acre garden because the cost to hire one is 70 pounds a day. I reckon to do the job properly would take a month and would cost me about a grand and I'd have to rush. By buying this model you are making a very good purchase. It's very powerful, starts first time, excellent on fuel and chews up ground. It is not too heavy and you don't have to rush the job, as you would if you hired one. I bought mine on easy pay £2.50 a week for 3 years. I think that is good value for money and you can sell on when you're done or keep it for an other time
