Originally the brainchild of Karl Dahlman, the world's first hover mower floated off the production line in County Durham, England, in 1965. They caught on very quickly, because most mowers at the time were heavy and cumbersome. After Electrolux bought the company in 1969, the Flymo as we know it now appeared in 1977. MowDirect were the first online company in the UK to begin selling Flymo hover mowers back in 1999. Since then, we’ve become one of the country’s leading suppliers of Flymo garden equipment. The original Flymo hover mowers were all mains-electric, but select models are now petrol powered, and are therefore ideal for larger lawns.
